A Hoop with a Golden Proportion

Well, after this post was DELETED off the hoopers tribe here I am in Sacred Geometry... a tribe of the many perplexing wonders all around! As a martial artist geometry has been a major center of exploration for me. I'm always trying to find new ways to experiement with the wonders that are around us.

So here is a video of myself experimenting with a hoop I recieved from Sifu Rob Moses who I trained with in Hawaii. He is making staffs and sticks that are curved to the golden ratio. This video was taken a few days ago on 4-11-06 above Manzanita, Oregon. Beautifu Sunset that day!

This particular stick measures (a curved) 27" from tip to tip. It fits proportionally to my arm in both curve and length. The curve following the contours of the arm and the length goes from almost the center of my palm to the armpit. It has a unique balance and feel to it, and I believe this is because of it's being shaped using the golden mean ratio for it's curve, which is what I am personally interested in experimenting in movement with right now, since the human form can be proportionally measured revealing the golden ratio again and again, this toy has proven to be worthwhile to experiment with.... and he says he's going to make some glow in the dark too!

Keep Movement Alive,

Dave Copeland
