Sacred Geometry Calipers

Hey I'm new, I have a device, which is a Sacred Geometry Caliper(picture at my site). The first time I saw it was in a museum on the Brittany coast. There was an exhibit of Rennaissance illustrations(I have forgotten by who)and a sketch of a strange 3 pronged compass.I was traveling across France on a motorcycle studying art and architecture, the year was 1969,Iwas 15.Those images never left my head.A couple of years ago,I purchased a copy of Salvador Dali's,50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmanship.Inside, to my amazement was a pen&ink sketch of the very device cleverly charactured in a cartoon as if it were made from branches of a tree.He states that Leonardo Da Vinci gave plans for a model of said device to Luca Pacioli.I have alot of laser-cutting of parts done for my sculptures and decorative arts constructions. The laser is computer controlled and exceedingly accurate in every way.I determined to reproduce this device by modern methods and with modern materials(stainless steel) and mild steel for the hand acid-etched Celtic ornamented version (the one in the picture). It is a handy device for devining Golden Proportions et al.spirals etc. and has become a standard reference tool in my box of tricks.Anybody ever seen one of these before?Apparently many of the architect/artists in the Rennaissance had them.Too bad the architects of our time don't.
