hi, great tribe. does anybody have any suggestions for getting started with sacred geometry? i'd like to start doing some drawing. are there any books that would guide me through some basic stuff? a workbook? any books in general that you would recommend?
what are the minimal tools needed? i just got a compass, i'm guessing i should pick up a protractor also.
thanks, peace, and happy new year!!

Tue, January 9, 2007 - 2:24 PMDrunvolo Melchisedek "The Flower of Life" Is a good one, there is some great Sacred Geometry in it, also some channeling stuff to wade through, not really my thing, but Great Stuff on Sacred Geometry.
If you are into Cards, like tarot, there is a great Sacred Geometry Deck.

There is tons of stuff on the net as well, just google it you will find a wealth of knowledge.
Buy yourself a basic school geometry set and you will have everything you need to get started.

Fri, February 16, 2007 - 7:30 PMthank you alice, i will investigate those. i had to draw a star of david for a tattoo, so i gave it a try with the protracter and compass. it was really fun to see all the shapes that came out of that. been playing around some more also, and i'm excited to learn what's in the books.

Re: beginner sacred geometry
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 8:22 PMDefinitely the Compass, they sell a big compass at lumber stores, but also get some books at the library.
Check out how Gaudi made Cantenary arches. Chains! Get a nice drafting table with a Paralell bar!
Remember, you can't divide a line into three equal parts with a compass, you need to start to think in weird divisors, and angles.
Get a book at the library about Buckminster Fuller.
Get string, chains, hooks, sticks, bamboo,.....
Use a stick and string to figure out how tall a building is, Triangulating and using the SinCosTan formula.
The geometry part of it starts to talk to you if you don't make it into work.

Mon, March 19, 2007 - 2:17 AMHi, I just saw your post. I great book that I found is called "A Beginner's Guide to Constructing the Universe" by Michael S. Schneider. It is used in the Waldorf school here in Honolulu. It has helped to create a deeper understanding of the subject for myself and many other sudents. Good luck!
